Creating an immersive journal of our life in Europe, I chose a Wordpress theme best suited for my travel blog. The map being front and center was crucial to me from a UX perspective as I wanted viewers to follow our stops and share our experiences using the same tools we were.

In a direct collaboration with the Marketing Director, we envisioned multiple potential themes for the site. I created graphics based on our ideas and discussions, then provided proposed mockups. Once we landed on the perfect design, content was finalized and built in Dreamweaver.

This Wordpress website was self-started by my client. Once most of the content was in place, I fine-tuned the graphics to improve the user experience and give the finished site a more professional look and feel. This included editing and selecting photographs, checking alignment of text, ensuring cohesion of theme and colors between pages and QA testing all links for destination and functionality.

After extensive preliminary planning and collaboration, this site was ultimate built on the WIX platform. I was granted full responsibility for both the front and back end. This included collecting and editing photographs and other assets for each venue, writing content and then bringing it all together to make an impactful website that truly showcased the clients many services and capabilities.

I was brought in to modernize and improve this client’s already functioning WordPress site. This included updating existing imagery and content to include more recent projects and improve brand cohesion from page to page within the domain. In the process, I was able to use my technical skills to identify and resolve multiple backend bugs improving load times and others issues that were impacting the site in Google’s SEO scoring algorithm.
